ABOUT ME
I started writing about travel at the tail end of the golden era of travel journalism. Back then, journalists went on generous trips to appraise new hotels, experiences and tours, and wrote in-depth accounts tailored to their readership. I’ve seen travel media go from a powerful industry of thought-leading journalists to a wild west of panicky sources. Do I trust that TikTok video? That AI search result? Is this blogger a bot? Does that restaurant even still exist? I’m hoping we’ll have a swing back to trusting real people, and their real, lived experiences.
As someone who’s travelled, often solo, to the most magical destinations (Hawaii, Japan, Argentina, Rwanda, India, South Korea) I have a broad overview of the travel scene and can give you my real, human expertise. I’ve stayed in hundreds of hotels, from no-frills airport numbers to incredibly opulent palace hotels, tented camps and skyscraper marvels. I specialise in the Mediterranean and know where Europe lovers are heading for their next beach holiday or active break. I’m clued up on everything from airline industry news to family travel trends, and I’m a safe, expert pair of hands for your next piece of travel copy.
I’m a freelance writer and editor who is available for:
