Greece

& the mediterranean

I grew up visiting Greece - specifically the Peloponnese - and have written about Athens and its Riviera, Santorini, Milos, Sifnos, Serifos, Crete, Corfu and island-hopping the Ionians, among other Greek stories.

I also adore Spain and Italy, and have written about Sardinia, Rome, Puglia, Madrid, the Catalonian Pyrenees, and southern Turkey over the course of my career.

New york city

My all-time favourite city is New York — I’ve been back year after year since first visiting in 2014. In that time I’ve seen new “it” neighbourhoods crop up, from Williamsburg to Tribeca and the Lower East Side, tried all the best cheap street eats, been to the newest attractions and sung uproariously in piano bars until 4am. Want to know my expert tips? Hit me up for a story…

bucket list travels

Over 15 years as a travel magazine editor and freelance writer, I’ve had some staggering bucket-list experiences: flying over volcanoes in Hawaii, getting up close with rhinos in South Africa and gorillas in Rwanda, touring pre-Hispanic ruins, city food scenes and agave fields in Mexico, visiting culture capitals from NYC to Rome and Marrakesh, basking in Bali’s spas, travelling to South Korea’s DMZ (demilitarised zone), visiting Iguazu Falls and eating weird and wonderful delicacies in a Japanese ryokan.

The breadth of my experiences means I’m uniquely placed to report on bucket list trips and tours — I’ve written about everything from personal safety on exotic travels to the best tours and trips for bucket list experiences on a budget, how to hang with gorillas in Rwanda, and why Seoul beats Tokyo and Hong Kong as the most exciting Asian city break.

*Forget Tokyo and Hong Kong — Seoul is summer’s hot Asian capital (Evening Standard)
